This is the basic steps to follow to do what I did in my video
NUMBER 1 Find Your Channel ID Get the Channel ID from https://www.youtube.com/account_advanced. Not the User ID!
NUMBER 2 – CHANGE THE CHANNEL ID IN THIS CODE AND EMBED IT TO YOUR SITE (the bold part needs to be changed to your channel ID, NOT the user ID)
<iframe width=”1280″ height=”720″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/live_stream?channel=UCZIErbHLrGGnhX05x60HORA“ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>
NUMBER 3 – Create and page on your site and embed that code! (optional: Add some buttons to your direct livestream page as well)
NUMBER 4 – Customize the Video Player Size for YOUR SITE! (Standard YouTube Video)
Recommended dimensions: 426 x 240 (240p), 640 x 360 (360p), 854 x 480 (480p), 1280 x 720 (720p), 1920 x 1080 (1080p), 2560 x 1440 (1440p) and 3840 x 2160 (2160p). Aspect ratio is 16:9 (auto adds pillarboxing if 4:3). Max file size is 128GB or 12 hours, whichever is less.
NUMBER 5 – Schedule a Livestream inside your youtube channel and add a generic title and a placeholder thumbnail. This will appear on your video page as the placeholder…. see my example at https://www.worshiptheking.com/livestream
NUMBER 4 TEST TEST TEST!
I did all of this but it did not work for me. I’m not sure if it is because of the website builder I use (Squarespace) or what but it is showing an error message.
It is very tricky… yeah, make sure the code works right and just first, try to get the livestream to come up on a basic page.
