LEADING WORSHIP IN TWO MONTHS…
Hi Eric! I met you the first weekend in May at the Homeschool Conference in Lansing, Michigan. I bought your complete 8 chords, 100 songs book package and have been diligently working on them ever since. I knew very little about my guitar before I bought your set (I could play the B-I-B-L-E with “cheat” 3 string chords). It has been about 2 1/2 months since my purchase and I can now play every song in levels 1-4 and some from level 5 & 6! I am so excited about my new ministry at my church. I have sung and played my flute in our Praise Band for several years and just recently told my director that I was learning how to play the guitar. He asked me to bring it in and show him what I had learned so far. When I started playing “Come, Now is the Time to Worship” his jaw hit the ground. That was about 2 weeks ago. He had me play it in church that very next Sunday. Yesterday he called me and asked for a list of songs that I knew and said that our piano player will be out of town this Sunday and he wants me to play for the congregational worship! How cool is that? We’re even going to teach a new song, “How Great Is Our God!” Isn’t He great? I’m so glad that He laid on your heart to write this worship series! You’re stuff has been and continues to be the foundation of all my learning because you are a gifted teacher with a passion for Christ and because we share the same passion for Christ and I too want to be able to play many genres well but especially worship music that blesses the soul and gives glory to God. You continue to improve this product and I’m glad to see that.
I started full on with guitar using your course back on March 29, 2008. I practiced diligently with some high and lows in time depending on my work schedule but I generally touch my guitar EVERYDAY. I got a solid foundation your course and built up the confidence to try learning a few other songs as learning vehicles. I chose “Good Riddance” by Green Day because of the arpeggios segments in the song and figured it would be a great work skills workout to supplement the exercises in your course.
